Hurd, Kinsman, Malone and Maple Project
Mayor D’Amelio and the Village Board have been aggressively addressing the Village’s aging infrastructure. Village officials have been coordinating with major utility companies to have them upgrade their underground pipes. As you are aware during 2020, Suez updated the water main and service lines on Hurd Avenue, Kinsman Lane and Malone Avenue. During the winter months of 2020-2021, the Village went out to bid on a large scale drainage project to upgrade the aging storm water system pipes. This drainage project includes replacing all existing pipes and catch basins and adding 12 additional catch basins!
The Village awarded the bid to Colonnelli Brothers in late spring and anticipates work to begin in the middle of August. The drainage project is expected to take us well into the fall months. The second phase of this project, which is the milling and paving will be completed in Spring 2022.
Mayor D’Amelio would like to personally thank you for your patience and understanding with all the construction that took place last year. Please continue to have patience as we get through the next phase of the project which will be the drainage. We understand the inconvenience some of the upgrades may have caused; however upgrading your underground infrastructure is necessary before any milling and paving can be done. We must work on the underground first to ensure all infrastructure will be sound for many years to come!
